Harrison Gwamnishu, Senior Special Assistant on Civil Society and Youth Mobilization to the Delta State governor, has resigned from his position effective April 25, 2025. In his resignation letter posted on his social media pages, he addressed to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Gwamnishu cited the government's alleged inaction on insecurity issues despite his repeated warnings and recommendations.

Gwamnishu expressed disappointment that his efforts to address the pressing concerns of insecurity in the state were not being taken seriously by the administration.
