Nollywood actress and humanitarian Foluke Daramola-Salako has opened up about the powerful role her late mother played in keeping her marriage together, describing her as her best friend and life’s anchor.
Speaking in a recent podcast, Foluke revealed that her mother’s unwavering values, strength, and deep faith in God were the reason she chose to endure and overcome marital challenges.
“It is because of my mother that I’m still married. Left to me alone, there are so many things I could say I can’t take anymore, but my mom stood for everything right,” the actress confessed.
A Mother’s Strength Through Pain
Foluke shared that her mother battled a stroke for five years before passing away. Despite the pain, she never lost her faith or her commitment to living a godly life.
“My mom lost my father when she was 38 years old and never remarried. She was sold out to God. Even in her pain, she would still praise Him. I still cried last night because I don’t find real people around me anymore and she was the only real person I could talk to,” she said with emotion.
Beauty Without Surgery
The actress also fondly recalled her mother’s natural beauty, noting that she had never undergone cosmetic procedures like a tummy tuck or BBL.
“She was a very beautiful woman when she was young. She didn’t do any cosmetic enhancements, but she had everything naturally. I thank God she’s in a better place because the pain was so much,” Foluke added.
Foluke Daramola’s heartfelt tribute is a reminder of the deep influence mothers can have on their children’s lives shaping decisions, instilling values, and leaving a legacy of love that lasts beyond death.
