A Lagos resident, Olawale Ogunbadejo, has been remanded in Kirikiri Correctional Centre by a Magistrate's Court for disposing of waste on a public road. The court ordered his remand pending a trial scheduled for June 26. According to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu's Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Wale Ajetunmobi, Ogunbadejo was caught on camera dumping waste on the Alapere Link Bridge on May 21.
The state government had earlier called for help in locating Ogunbadejo and promised a reward for anyone providing useful information leading to his arrest. He was subsequently apprehended in a joint operation by the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), also known as KAI.
