FRSC Intensifies Easter Safety Measures with 200 Mobile Courts
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has announced the deployment of over 200 mobile courts across Nigeria to prosecute traffic offenders during the 2025 Easter special patrol operations.
Corps Marshal Malam Shehu Mohammed disclosed this in a statement, emphasizing the FRSC's commitment to ensuring a safe and smooth Easter celebration from Thursday, April 16, to April 23, 2025.
Key Offenses Targeted by FRSC Mobile Courts
The FRSC will conduct aggressive enforcement, focusing on:
- Speeding & dangerous driving
- Wrongful overtaking & lane violations
- Use of phones while driving
- Overloading & seatbelt/child restraint violations
- Passenger manifest violations
- Operation of rickety vehicles
- Latching & twist-lock violations
Enhanced Monitoring & Emergency Response
To ensure real-time oversight, the FRSC has set up a Situation Room at its National Headquarters to:
- Monitor nationwide activities
- Process and disseminate critical information
- Coordinate with state commands and security agencies
Collaboration with Security & Emergency Agencies
The FRSC is partnering with key stakeholders, including:
- Military & police formations
- DSS, Immigration, and NSCDC
- Federal Ministry of Works & NEMA
- State traffic agencies & ambulance services
