The Kano State Hisbah Board has taken swift action to dismantle a makeshift pilgrimage site that gained public attention due to unverified claims of bearing the footprint of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The site, located in the Dakata Industrial Area, had attracted thousands of residents and visitors who believed the water seeping from the site possessed divine healing powers.

Videos on social media showed people jostling to access the muddy pool, engaging in ceremonial acts, and scooping water into bottles. However, the Hisbah Board intervened, describing the claims as fabricated and dangerous.

Deputy Commander Muhahideen Aminudeen emphasized that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) never visited Africa during his lifetime, let alone Kano. He urged the public to seek authentic Islamic knowledge and cautioned against consuming water from the site due to potential contamination.

The board is investigating the origin of the false claim, and while no arrests have been made, the action highlights the importance of verifying information before spreading it.
