The Lagos State Number Plate Production Authority (LSNPPA) has finalized plans to introduce specially designed number plates to identify and recognize People Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) in the state. This initiative aims to provide a unique identification system for PLWDs, enhancing their mobility and accessibility.

According to the state Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the new number plates will be designed to cater to the needs of PLWDs, promoting inclusivity and accessibility in the state. This development is part of the state's efforts to support and empower PLWDs.

In related news, the LSNPPA has reported significant achievements, producing 218,400 standard number plates for both private and commercial vehicles between May 2024 and March 2025. This milestone highlights the authority's commitment to providing essential services to the state's residents.

The introduction of special number plates for PLWDs is expected to enhance their experience on the roads and facilitate easier identification by law enforcement agencies and other stakeholders.
