The Hisbah Commission in Yobe State has destroyed 51 cartons of alcoholic beverages and 18 jerrycans of methylene chloride, also known as Madarar Sukurdai, as part of a statewide crackdown on intoxicating substances. This action aligns with Yobe's legal and religious framework, which prohibits the sale and consumption of alcohol and other intoxicants based on Islamic principles.

Chairman of the Commission, Yahuza Abubakar, reaffirmed the Commission's commitment to upholding the state's moral and religious standards. The Commission's efforts aim to maintain peace and promote social harmony in line with the state's ethical and religious values.

In addition to enforcement efforts, the Hisbah Commission mediated and resolved 565 cases in the past year. These cases included family and inheritance disputes, business disagreements, unpaid rents, community conflicts, and farmer-herder clashes. Abubakar noted that most cases were resolved amicably through reconciliation and mutual understanding.

The Commission emphasized its continued efforts to maintain peace and promote social harmony in Yobe State. By upholding the state's moral and religious standards, the Commission aims to create a more harmonious community.
