Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has issued a strong warning to roadside preachers using loudspeakers in public spaces, particularly markets. The governor cited noise pollution and disturbance to residents as the reasons behind the warning.

Soludo stated that anyone caught violating the noise pollution order would face a hefty fine of ₦500,000. In a viral video, the governor was seen confronting a roadside preacher at a market, advising him to stop disrupting traders with his loud preaching.

The governor suggested alternative venues for the preacher, such as renting an open field or conducting sermons in a church. Soludo emphasized that interested listeners would seek out the preacher, eliminating the need for loudspeakers in public spaces.

Soludo's stance on the matter is clear: the state will no longer tolerate the use of loudspeakers in markets, as it affects people's eardrums and disrupts the peace. The governor's actions are part of his administration's efforts to maintain order and reduce noise pollution in public spaces.
