The Delta State Police Command has launched an investigation into the death of Shimite Love, Special Adviser to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori on Trade and Export. Shimite passed away on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital, Asaba, where she was rushed for medical treatment.

According to reports, Shimite's body was found after her maid expressed concern that her husband had allegedly locked her in the house all day. Her brother rushed to the scene and found her with foam coming out of her mouth, and she was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.

The police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the death and ongoing investigation. Edafe stated that Shimite's husband is in protective custody, not under arrest, after he reported receiving threats from her family. However, the family has lodged a formal complaint, expressing suspicion about the husband's role in Shimite's death.

The police have initiated a thorough investigation, emphasizing that an autopsy will determine the cause of death. Family members allege that Shimite's husband isolated her from loved ones and controlled her movements, claiming he had manipulated and hypnotized her.
