A Nigerian policeman, Stephen Enang, an Inspector attached to the Akim Police Division in Calabar, has died after watching Arsenal defeat Real Madrid 3-0 on Tuesday, April 8. Enang, a die-hard Arsenal fan from Ekori in Cross River State's Yakurr Local Government Area, was watching the match at a viewing centre when he suddenly slumped and became unresponsive.
According to eyewitnesses, Enang was in high spirits throughout the match, cheering and jumping up in excitement as Arsenal scored three goals. However, after the final whistle, he failed to get up, and his friends realized something was wrong. They rushed him to the Police Hospital in Akim, where medical personnel tried to revive him, but he was pronounced dead.
The sudden demise of the officer has shocked his friends and family members. The Akwa Ibom state police command has yet to comment on the incident.
