Governor Zulum Exposes Boko Haram Collaborators in Government and Military

In a shocking revelation, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has accused some Nigerian politicians and military personnel of aiding Boko Haram insurgents by acting as informants.

During an interview on News Central’s Breakfast Central, Zulum vowed to strengthen intelligence operations and deal ruthlessly with saboteurs undermining security efforts in the Northeast.

     - The Nigerian Armed Forces

   - He urged leaders to avoid politicizing insecurity for personal gain.

3. Surrendered Insurgents: Successes and Risks

   - While over 99% of repentant Boko Haram fighters have reintegrated peacefully, Zulum acknowledged that a small fraction may return to terrorism.

   - He stressed the importance of non-kinetic approaches (economic, social, and political solutions) alongside military action.

4. Military Challenges and Technological Gaps

   - Despite this, he praised the military’s efforts in supporting peace-building initiatives.

   - The governor urged President Bola Tinubu to:

     - Listen to professional military advice

Conclusion: A Multi-Dimensional Approach Needed

Governor Zulum’s revelations highlight the complex nature of Nigeria’s insurgency war. While military force remains crucial, long-term peace requires:

- Stronger intelligence to root out informants

- Economic and social reforms to deter recruitment

- Transparency in security spending to prevent corruption

The fight against Boko Haram is far from over, but with decisive leadership and accountability, Nigeria can reclaim its security.
