A 50-year-old man, Ladan Abubakar, has been arraigned before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates' Court for allegedly allowing his cattle to graze in a restricted area. The defendant, who has no fixed address, faces a one-count charge related to unlawful cattle grazing in Ewu-Ekiti on April 1 at around 7:30 a.m.

According to Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, the police prosecutor, Abubakar's actions contravene Section 2 of the Prohibition of Cattle and Other Ruminants Grazing Law of Ekiti State, punishable under Section 7 of the same law. The prosecutor has requested an adjournment to review the case file and gather witnesses.

The magistrate's decision on Abubakar's bail application and the future hearing date is pending. This case highlights the state's efforts to enforce its grazing laws and regulate cattle movement within its borders.
