Introduction
The exit of Pastor Idowu Iluyomade from the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has sparked controversy and speculation. While some claim he rebelled, an elder from the City of David Parish, Quincy Ayodele, has come forward with a different narrative.
In an exclusive interview with Daddy Freeze, Ayodele revealed that Iluyomade was not only suspended but later barred from entering the church premises—a move that left many members shocked.
The Suspension and Unexpected Expulsion
Pastor Iluyomade was handed a three-month suspension by the RCCG leadership, which many believed would end with his reinstatement. However, Ayodele disclosed that instead of being restored, he received a letter prohibiting him from stepping into City of David.
"We expected him to return after the suspension, but to our surprise, he was told never to enter the church again."
Ayodele, who accompanied Iluyomade to RCCG headquarters during his suspension, expressed deep disappointment, noting that the pastor had a close father-son relationship with Pastor Adeboye.
Appeals to Pastor Adeboye Fell on Deaf Ears
Concerned elders wrote letters to Pastor Enoch Adeboye, pleading for leniency, but received no response. Iluyomade then attempted to worship at Kings Court, another RCCG parish he once pioneered, but was later denied entry there as well.
"Pastor Adeboye always taught us to seek the lost sheep. Why was Iluyomade treated differently?"
Was Herbert Wigwe the Main Contributor to Trinity Towers?
Ayodele also debunked rumors that the late Herbert Wigwe (former Access Bank CEO) was the sole major contributor to the Trinity Towers project. She clarified that many members donated generously, and Iluyomade played a key role in mobilizing funds.
Did Iluyomade Plan to Start His Own Church?
Contrary to speculation, Ayodele insisted that Iluyomade never intended to leave RCCG.
"He doesn’t even know how to start a church. He was weeping when told he couldn’t return."
She lamented that many people Iluyomade helped abandoned him during his ordeal.
Pastor Adeboye’s Shocking Remarks
Ayodele expressed pain over Adeboye’s recent comments at City of David, where he referred to departed members as "demons" and insinuated that "devils built Trinity Towers."
"I wondered, is this really Daddy GO speaking? What is going on?"
Conclusion: A Plea for Reconciliation
Ayodele revealed that she is still mediating, hoping for reconciliation. She vowed that if given the chance, she would plead with Adeboye to forgive Iluyomade.
Key Takeaways:
Iluyomade was barred, not rebellious—contrary to rumors.
Appeals to RCCG leadership were ignored.
The late Herbert Wigwe wasn’t the only major donor to Trinity Towers.
Iluyomade never planned to leave RCCG but was forced out.
