The All Progressives Congress (APC) has temporarily closed its secretariat in mourning following the tragic death of its Director of Administration, Hon. Lateef Adeniji. Adeniji was kidnapped by bandits in Abuja about two months ago and lost his life despite the party's efforts to secure his release, including paying a ransom of N50 million. Unfortunately, the payment was made a month after his death.

The party announced the closure of its secretariat in a memo dated April 10, 2025, signed by Deputy Director of Administration, Ubagba Abel. The closure will last until Monday, April 14, 2025, allowing staff time for reflection and prayer for Adeniji's family and loved ones. The memo stated that the National Secretary approved the closure after receiving news of Adeniji's sad demise.

The APC pays tribute to Adeniji, whose tragic death has cast a shadow over the party's activities. The party's statement expressed deep sorrow over the loss of their Director of Administration, highlighting the impact of his passing on the party.
