The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has officially announced that the new moon has been sighted, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of the month of Shawwal. As a result, Eid-al-Fitr celebrations will commence on Sunday, March 31, 2025, in Saudi Arabia and several other countries.

The sighting of the new moon was confirmed by the Supreme Court after receiving reports from the Kingdom's observatories. The announcement was made on the Saudi Press Agency's official website, stating that the Shawwal crescent had been sighted and that Eid-al-Fitr would begin on Sunday.

Eid-al-Fitr is a significant event in the Islamic calendar, marking the end of Ramadan and the beginning of a new month. Muslims around the world will come together to pray, feast, and celebrate with family and friends.

In addition to Saudi Arabia, several other countries, including the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, and Palestine, will also celebrate Eid-al-Fitr on Sunday. The Fiqh Council of North America has also confirmed that Eid-al-Fitr will be celebrated on Sunday in the United States and Canada.

The Australian Fatwa Council has announced that Eid-al-Fitr will be celebrated on Monday, April 1, 2025, in Australia.
