Charlie Kirk, the conservative activist and founder of Turning Point USA, has died after being shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University in Orem on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. He was 31 years old.
The shooting occurred around 12:20 p.m. local time during an event known as the “American Comeback Tour.” He was speaking at a “Prove Me Wrong” table under a white tent when the gunfire erupted.
After being shot, Kirk was rushed to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries. Utah Governor Spencer Cox described the attack as a “political assassination,” and investigations are ongoing.
President Donald Trump confirmed Kirk’s death via Truth Social, calling him “The great, and even legendary, Charlie Kirk” and extending his sympathies to his wife Erika and their family.
At least two individuals were briefly taken into custody but later released. Authorities say no suspect remains in custody as the manhunt continues.
