The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with 17,025 candidates representing 0.88% of the total 1,931,467 scoring 300 and above. This marks a significant improvement in performance compared to previous years since the adoption of the Computer-Based Test (CBT) format in 2013.

The number of candidates who scored 300 and above has been steadily increasing, with only 724 candidates (0.06%) achieving similar scores in 2021. In the 250 and above category, 117,373 candidates (6.08%) attained this range in 2025. Notably, 336,845 candidates were scheduled for the resit examination, but 21,082 were absent.

JAMB also announced the release of withheld results for under-age candidates (except where litigation is involved) and those involved in examination malpractices, including "WhatsApp Runs." The board emphasized that this decision is not an endorsement of candidates' unacceptable acts but rather a one-time waiver.
