If you want your children to pick up fast on digital skills, then consider getting them a laptop instead of tablet (or both if you can). Some schools now insist on this (from age 5 and above).
Reason is that, laptop will still serve the purposes the tab would, and more. Will let them watch their toons and still learn.
This will help boost their typing speed. Laptop keyboard will give them real life practicals on typing.
They’d learn basic computer skills like navigating windows or Mac, file sharing and office.
They’d also learn basic coding.
There are coding games that can keep them entertained.
If you can’t teach them, there are so many free courses for kids on YouTube. If you have smart Tv, you can connect it and play the YouTube video. If you don’t, use a hdmi or flash drive.
They watch on television while they practice with their system. Some of these are done with tab too.
There are many age appropriate skills for them. Some platforms are dedicated to this, like kodable, Tynker, code(.)org and others… Google can help you find them.
Please note that every kid must not be good with IT, some just need basic skills to incorporate in their learning process. Some will be artists, some will be fashion designers, some will be writers and many more. Just give them the head-start and make it easier for them to choose.
Now that good schools that are well equipped are becoming very expensive, put your kids in the schools you can afford and do rest at home.
Even if they’re in very good schools, you can add to it.
