Ben Murray-Bruce Predicts World War III, Declares Nigeria Will Be a Safe Haven for Global Survivors
Media entrepreneur and former Nigerian Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has made a bold and thought-provoking prediction: World War III is coming, but Nigeria will be spared from its devastation and could even become a sanctuary for global survivors.
In a live discussion with Global Affairs expert Dane Waters, Murray-Bruce warned of rising global instability fueled by nuclear weapons, reckless leadership, and escalating violence all pointing toward a future global conflict.
“We’re in big trouble. As long as we have the kind of leaders we have in the world today, I see World War III coming and it’s going to be terrible,” he said.
Why Nigeria May Be Spared From Global War
Murray-Bruce believes Africa especially Nigeria will remain untouched due to its peaceful diplomatic approach, lack of territorial ambition, and absence of nuclear weapons programs.
“The beauty of World War III is that it’s not going to affect Africa,” he stated. “Nobody is going to be fighting in Nigeria because we have no territorial ambitions, no desire to acquire nuclear weapons, and we’re friends with all our West African neighbors.”
Nigeria as a Post-War Sanctuary
Envisioning the aftermath of such a catastrophic war, the Silverbird Group founder said Nigeria could become a haven for displaced populations from conflict-ridden regions — but under strict immigration conditions.
“We’ll be happy to welcome Americans, Israelis, and Iranians to Nigeria but make sure you get your visas,” he quipped.
“We don’t want people coming as illegal immigrants, but as welcomed visitors. We’ll treat you well.”
A Stark Warning From History
Murray-Bruce drew parallels to past global conflicts including World Wars I and II, and the Vietnam and Korean Wars, emphasizing that history is at risk of repeating itself.
“There are too many despots and trigger-happy leaders in power today,” he said. “It’s the leaders who start wars, not the people.”
He argued that as long as unstable individuals are elected to powerful positions, the world will remain on the brink of conflict.
Current Global Tensions Fueling His Prediction
His statement comes amidst rising international tensions:
Iran vs. Israel: Ongoing missile and drone exchanges raise fears of a broader Middle Eastern conflict.
Russia vs. Ukraine: The war continues to escalate with no clear resolution in sight.
These flashpoints, according to Murray-Bruce, are early signs of what could spiral into a devastating global war.
Final Thoughts: Is Nigeria Ready to Lead in a Post-War World?
While his forecast may seem grim, Murray-Bruce’s message also offers a glimmer of hope. He urges Nigeria and Africa at large to prepare for a more prominent role on the global stage, rooted in peace, diplomacy, and humanitarian values.
